It can work well, it does work well, and it DOES make the Navy Apoc redundant in general. I don't think being better for people who don't want to fit the best setup is actually making the ship useful. I mean, I fly a standard Apoc in PvP sometimes too and I am fine with it the way it is set up (posting the fitting here would prolly get me sent straight to a sanatory so I won't), but I have no illusions about its obsoloescense in the grander scheme of things.
What you say is like saying oldtimers aren't obsolete because you like driving them more than modern cars because it is so relaxed or something...
The only thing really going for the Navy Poc against the Abaddon is the silver.

I'm very attached to afterburner, which won't fit without RCUs, and like I said I prefer to use mega pulse. There are plenty of missions where action is mainly within the 15km mega pulse deathzone, where it will greatly outdamage any beam setup. Matter of taste imho.
Actually that pulse 'greatly outdamage' beams is a myth. They outdamage Megabeams by 15% and Tachyons by only 5.8%. That is less to much less than the Abaddon outdamages the poc. Beams and pulse are fairly close in all characteristic actually, which is why the 4+4 setup that I sometimes use works very well, while fitting 4 blasters and 4 rails, or 4 ACs and 4 arties is a crime...
And the damage pulses lose to beams at ranges over 25km is far more than what they gain over them for raw damage. And from what my excel sheet tells me, about 75% of all missions I do with the Abaddon can be beamed easier than pulsed.

Ok...try to run the numbers...they don't work do they.... thats because what i've noticed most players do is that once they activate their reps they keep them on. You need to learn to turn the reps on and then shut them off...do the same with the pulses...keep all the NOS going though (duh)
With a guardian backing you up...you are unstopable....I helped 13th Mordus Legionarry when I was part of them..take out 5 ships in 15 mins...while tanking 8....afterwards they all left with their tails between their legs...
This set up is also good for SOME missions...for that extra range use micros.
One slight change to the set up...take out 2 Megas and add 2 torps...makes for and interesting BS and BC killer. Or trade one NOS for HAML.... dont use it as a HAML use it to launch defender missles against annoying ravens (defender missles have a small aoe attack that takes out multiple missles...especially those of ppl that spam f1-f8 at once)
Is this trolling or complete lack of clue? For one, Navy apoc has 4 meds, not 5. And fitting 5 EANMs is as good as fitting 3 coz the last two won't do anything due to stacking penalties. Not to mention dual LAR and 5 pulses will not work at all on just base cap regen and 3 nos... I won't bother to go into the rest of the BS.
